As a tribute to Bernardo Bertolucci, who died recently (November 26, 2018) at his home in Rome at the age of 77, will be screened on the days of 3-4-5 December in The Space theater, the film that aroused the greatest clamor of public and critics "Last tango in Paris" in the version restored by the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Cineteca Nazionale, presented in world premiere at the Bari International Film Festival.
The film was distributed in April by CSCProduction in the dubbed version, in Italian (curated by the same Bertolucci,with the magnificent "vintage" voices of Giuseppe Rinaldi and MariaPia Di Meo) and in the original, never seen before in Italy, in which Marlon Brandospeaks mostly in English and Maria Schneider in French. The digital restoration of Last tango in Paris in 4K was curated by Vittorio Storaro (formerly the director of photography of the film) and by Federico Savina as regards the sound part. The negatives were made available by the production company of Alberto Grimaldi PEA and by Metro Goldwyn Mayer.
With the death of Bernardo Bertolucci Italy loses one of the greatest directors of national cinematography and the most representative, known and loved internationally.
